Triston and you had dentist appointments this afternoon for your 6 month checkup.  You have both been SO exited to go.  The dentist always gives you a token and you get to choose a prize with it.  We got there at 4:00 and shortly after, the power went out and it apparently had gone out through out most of town.  Well, we had to reschedule and that made you two boys very, very sad.  Triston was really upset because he wanted the dentist to check for loose teeth, but you were close behind him in the grieving!  It's amazing how sad you can be over missing a dentist appointment.

I have been dragging you to Biolife twice a week and for the most part you really like it.  You really like the lady who works in the day care center, Kathy.  She always has art projects and coloring pictures out for you that she knows you will like.  The day that you broke your collar bone, I cancelled going there and you were really upset because you wanted to show Kathy your sling and tell her what had happened.

You love to help me around the house.  You love it so much that I actually try to do everything when you are asleep.  Not that I don't want you to learn how to work and help others, it is just really hard to have your over-zealous enthusiasm helping me clean the toilet.  I do try to find little jobs for you to do, but you know when I am giving you jobs that are worthless.  But, I do love how you are always willing to help me with everything!

Monday, June 3, 2013

We went to the sand dunes with Grandma and Grandpa and Jeni, John and Mackayla.  You LOVED it there!  You all just ran around and got buried in the sand.  On the way home, you kept saying that you loved it there and wanted to live right next to it!  I spent the 15 minute drive home explaining that we lived almost as close as you could get!

Last night you asked me when your collar bone was going to be healed.  I felt so sad for you!  I think you thought it would be fun to wear the sling for a few days and now the fun has worn off.  I sure hope it heals fast, but today it hurt more than it ever has.

Sunday, June 2, 2013

You were not in a very happy mood today.  I am not sure why, but you just cried over everything.  You also fell like 13 times.  You kept tripping over everything on the floor and running into walls.  Maybe you had a growth spurt?

Over the last couple of months, you have not been very happy to go to church and primary.  You say that it is too long and you don't want to go.  But, I know that you really like your teachers, so I am not sure what is going through your mind.  But, today you went to primary and didn't complain at all and I was very proud of you!

Saturday, June 1, 2013

The last 4 months have sure flown by and I feel really guilty that I have not recorded all the "Connorisms" that have happened.  You are charming and witty full of personality!

You have the most random thoughts and I have a lot of trouble following those thoughts sometimes.  A couple of weeks ago you told me that you know how babies cans see inside the mommy's tummy.  You said that the mommy's bones glow in the dark, "like glow sticks".  Such a funny boy!

You finished preschool in early April, so you were stuck home with me, which did not go well for ever of us.  You did not like me doing my job in the morning and insisted on getting my full attention when I should have been working.  You started preschool again in the middle of May and it has been a lot better for both of us.  But, you are now having a hard time with Triston being able to go to a drama camp he is signed up for this summer.  You have a very competitive steak in you and want to do everything Triston does.

You did get something like Triston that you have always been jealous of.  Last Thursday, May 23, you broke a bone, just like Triston!  You both were playing with an office chair in the kitchen that Grandpa had brought over for me.  You were taking turns sliding each other across the floor.  You were having such a great time until you fell off.  You were in a lot of pain and I could tell with the way you were acting that something was wrong.  So, I took you to Urgent Care where you got an x-ray and you had a broken right collar bone.  You have been a little upset that you didn't get a cast and that you didn't get a stuffed bear from surgery like Triston did, but you have been a real trooper.  To keep your shoulder from moving too much, we put your arm in a sling and then wrap your arm down to your side.  You really aren't in that much pain, which really surprise me.  You can move your arm around and you try to do everything like normal.  The only time it does hurt you is if you try to extend your arm out in front of you or above your head, or if I try to pick you up in the wrong way.  You also hurt during the night.  you hAe been sleeping with me and I try to keep you propped up, but you still wake up crying a few times.  You love the attention, though!  You love telling me that you are in pain and need medicine.  You also love telling people that ask you about your hurt arm, that it is your collar bone, not your arm.  I feel pretty guilty about what happened.  I should have stopped you from playing on the chair, but you were having so much fun!

A couple of weeks ago you had your first tumbling recital and you were so excited for it.  I think you were more excited for the candy lei that Triston kept telling you that Grandma would make for you and the medal that the coaches would give you.  Your class performed to the "I just want to be King" from the Lion King, so you got to wear a lion's tail and roar like a lion.  I watched you practice your performance many, many times and you always did it the correct way, so I will never understand why you chose the actual performance to completely rebel!  You decided to stay in your lion character and keep crawling across the balance beam when you were supposed to be walking.  Your coach even tried to get you to stand up and you wouldn't, but I do have it all recorded to torture you with in the future!

Cooper gave you his old bike, which is a great size for you!  You love this bike and have loved riding it.  You can actually go a lot faster on it than on your much smaller bike.  When we first started riding bikes and you still had your old one, your little legs had to work three times as hard as me and Triston and you could not keep up with us.  But, on this new bike you can almost keep up and you love going so fast!  About a week ago, you wanted to try to ride Triston's old bike without training wheels and after two days of trying, you were able to do it!  You were so excited and I was so proud of you.  We then took the training wheels off your new bike and that was little bit harder.  It was just a little too tall for you, so you couldn't start or stop.  You also had a little trouble starting and stopping on the smaller bike, but you were very determined to be able to do it and practiced and practiced and wouldn't let me help you, and you mastered it! And then a couple of days later, you broke your collar bone, so you are back to riding your old small bike with the training wheels and an old trike, but you don't seem to mind.

You stopped taking naps about a month ago.  I don't know if either one of us was ready for that, but you would not fall asleep at nap time at all!  I would lay down with you and fall asleep, but you stayed wide awake.  And then on the days you did take a nap you would not fall asleep until after 9:00.  There are days when you should take a nap, and there are days you fall asleep on the car around 5:00 and there are days you are really, really grumpy, but we are working on all of it.  Actually, most days you are grumpy and whine and whine, but that is my Connor and I still love you!

Tuesday, February 26, 2013

You had tumbling today and you are getting pretty good at it.  I do not know how you have the energy to do all that you do!  It amazes me, but you also amaze me with your sense of humor and your amazing hugs and your giggles and your happiness!

Monday, February 25, 2013

You have the most animated facial features.  You crack me up every time I look into your cute little face!  You show every emotion possible and it is usually pretty exaggerated.  You can also change your moods very, very quickly!  You will go from a sour, mad, scrunched up face to a grin from ear to ear!  I love this about you so much!

Sunday, February 24, 2013

Yesterday when we watched, "Toy Story", you kept telling me that you liked the mean dog and the mean neighbor boy, Syd. When they ended up losing in the end, you felt really bad for them.  When I  asked you if you liked them because you felt bad for them, you said yes, and no one else like them.  I can't decide if you just like an underdog, or if you feel sad for them because you are also a "bad" kid. You aren't exactly a bad kid, you just have your moments of not being a really good kid.

But, tonight you showed me another good side of you.  The three of us played a couple of games this evening and you are usually a very competitive player and you easily get upset if you don't win.  Well, tonight, we were playing "Hungry, Hungry Doggies" and you and Triston were pretty even in your playing skills, so I laid back a little and didn't try very hard.  When you noticed, I didn't have very many marbles, you tried to give me some of yours.  And you kept looking at my pile as we were playing and cheered me on.  That made me very proud!

Saturday, February 23, 2013

Tonight you watched a show that had a police officer arresting someone.  You told me, "I never want to have that happen to me.  Mom, if that happens to you maybe they will let you go if you tell them you have kids.  Maybe if you cry, they will let you go."  I am not sure why you think that will ever happen to me, but thanks for the advice!

You had a fireman come to preschool today and one of your teachers told me that you told the firman that it would not be nice if you had to break down a door, but it would be nicer if you just used a key!

We finally finished a Lego helicopter that you got for Christmas today and we were all very excited!  You did a lot of watching and cheering Triston and I on.  Putting Legos together is still a little hard for you.  But, you sure love the end product!

Daddy took you to a pet store today and you have decided that you really want a puppy.  And as much as I do not like pets, I really hope that someday you will get a puppy!  But, that will have to be when we get our own house that has a yard!

Wednesday, February 20, 2013

There are a few things I ask you to do every day, that always makes you mad!  Such as, getting dressed, brushing your teeth and hair, eating breakfast, lunch and dinner, cleaning your room, getting in the car to go any where, and when I make you stop playing "Mario".  But, what makes you the most mad these days is when I make you take a nap.  Oh, you get so mad at me!  But, you still need to take them.  On the days you don't take them, you start falling asleep at 5 and you become quite unbearable!  So, about the only way I can get you to take a nap is to lay down with you until you fall asleep.  You still throw a tantrum, but it is so much easier to lay down with you for 10 minutes, than watch you get out of bed 20 times, which ends up with us getting very angry with each other.  There are some days when I fall asleep and sometimes fall asleep before you and I must admit that I enjoy a little nap, even though I should be doing my job at that time.

At tumbling today, you were very excited to tell your coaches that you swam all by yourself yesterday. And then you told Cooper's mom at lunch.  You are so proud of yourself!

Also at tumbling today, your coach gave you free time on the trampoline and all you wanted to do was run.  And on the way home, when I asked what your favorite part of tumbling was and you said, "running".  Maybe I just need to find you a place to fun once a week instead of going to tumbling!

Happy Presidents Day!

We went swimming at The Apple for the first time since Grandpa's cancer scare last August, and you did amazing!  Today was the first time you were adventurous and brave and I was so proud of you.  You had a swim vest on and you let go of everyone and swam by yourself.   The vest of course was keeping you up, but you were going all over the place with your little legs kicking and arms flailing.  And you were so proud of yourself!  You kept saying, "I am totally swimming!"  This was also the first time you did not want to leave swimming.  In the past, you would sit on the steps and when someone dragged you off the steps, you would cling to them!  I think this means you are growing up! But, I am very proud of you!

Sunday, February 17, 2013

When you do not take a nap, you get a little crazy, a little wild, a little mean and a little whiny!  Basically, you are just a whole lot of fun!  But, don't worry, I still love ya tons!

We had dinner with most of the family at Grandma's and looked at their pictures from their trip to New Zealand and Australia.  You just wanted to play with Logan.

Today, you asked me if Jesus made The Hulk!  You keep my mind working just as fast as yours!

Saturday, February 16, 2013

For bedtime, I have been putting you and Triston in separate rooms to fall asleep and you take turns falling asleep in my bed.  And because you still take naps and Triston does not, Triston goes to bed about half an hour before you do and you get quiet time where you play Mario or watch TV.  Triston gets his quiet time during your nap time.  Well, you didn't take a nap today because we were out running around and then Grandpa babysat you while Mommy and Grandma went to a movie.  On the way home from Grandma's you asked if you got quiet time and I said no because you did not take a nap.  You got pretty mad at me and told me you wanted to take a nap, so you should still get quiet time.  My dear, Connor, you do not understand that you don't get the best of the both worlds!  No nap, no quiet time!

Friday, February 15, 2013

We got to babysit a 9 month old baby girl today.  You are so cute with little babies!  You tried so hard to make her happy, by making goofy faces and giving her lots of different toys.

We went to dinner at Gringo's for Aunt Jeni's birthday.  You are not so good at sitting in a restaurant. In fact most of the time when I do take you to a restaurant, you are a complete pill!  You hide under the table, run away from me, demand things from the waiters and about every other embarrassing that could happen in a restaurant.  But, don't worry, I still love you!

Happy Valentines Day!!!

You enjoyed today!  Your friend Melli Nielsen brought you a valentine and candy.  Mackayla gave you some small toys and candy and Mommy gave you a stuffed monster and some chocolates.

When you were mad at me today, you told me that I was not the boss of you, but Jesus was!

We saw a little person in a store today and you were pretty fascinated with her, but my biggest fear came true and you said some pretty embarrassing things to her.  You told her she was short, but she was really nice to you and told you she was a little person and asked you how old you thought she was.  You answered with 4 and kept asking her why she was shorter than you.  I am glad she was so nice back to you and I tried to turn it all into a grand teaching moment, so I do hope you learned how special every person is and that  Heavenly Father loves us all and that being different is ok!

Wednesday, February 13, 2013

On the way to preschool this morning, you asked me if Jesus made Jesus.  I told you that Heavenly Father made Jesus.  And of course, the next question was "who made Heavenly Father?"  I am so glad that you were fine with the explanation that Heavenly Father just always existed.  You also told me today that both Santa and Jesus are magical.  It m worried about that little kind of yours.  I don't think you ever stop thinking.

The last week or so, if any one gets mad or you if you get in trouble, you tell me that because it is Valentines no one can be mad and you always use it when I get mad at you.  You keep telling me everyone has to have love for Valentines Day!

Tuesday, February 12, 2013

Usually, on Tuesdays you have tumbling, but it was cancelled today.  So, while I worked all morning, you played on the WII and watched TV.  I feel bad leaving you all alone in the living room and today, you came into me and told me you were bored and wanted me to be done with work.  Believe me, I wish I didn't have to work and could play with you every morning!

We had lunch today at Arctic Circle with Cooper and his mom.  Triston's friend from kindergarten, Sara, was there and you attached yourself right to her!  You tackled her and wrapped your arms around her and wouldn't let her go.  What am I going to do with you?  You are a flirt!

Monday, January 11, 2013

We had dinner with daddy before he left to work in Utah and he gave you a two dollar bill and told you to be sure to put it up and keep it safe.  You stood on the bench and held it high over your head.  What a goofball!

We went sledding a couple of weeks ago right after a new snow fall.  You did not like it at all!  You did not like the snow hitting you in the face, so you did not enjoy the experience and wanted to go home pretty quickly.  We went a second time when the snow was all packed down and you liked it a little bit more, but you still only went down the hill a couple of times before you wanted to go home.  So, ever since the first time sledding you started refusing going outside to play, especially while at preschool.  And yes, it is January in Idaho and there is snow on the ground and it is cold, but you do not want anything to do with it after getting all that snow in the face.  But, today after preschool, which you didn't even want to go to at all, you kept telling me you were too sick to go.  And yes, you still have a cough, but you are much better than you have been the last few days, so I made you go.  You were very proud to tell me that you went outside and I was very proud of you!  You even told me that you were glad that you went to preschool, but I know that won't make a difference on Wednesday when it's time to go back.  You will find another excuse to not want to go.

Sunday, February 10, 2013

We all stayed home from church today.  You still have your cough and stuffy nose and Triston was also coughing.  So we stayed in Pj's all day, watched "Fox and the Hound", which you laughed at several times, and made Valentines for grandparents and cousins.

When we picked out Valentine cards, you chose "Dora" cards.  You have a little bit of a crush on Dora and she is your top pick for a wife!

Yo wanted to make a Valentine for Amelia and your preschool teachers.  Amelia Bargabos is in our ward, 8 years old and the daughter of mommy's friend, Jill, and her brother Cooper, goes to school with Triston, so we see them a lot.  You have always had a crush on her, which is totally cute!

Saturday, February 9, 2013

You were not quite yourself today.  You have a cold and an ear infection and you are taking medication and you didn't take a nap today.  So, that led top an interesting moment at Walmart.  We were Ina very long line waiting to check out and there were two young (20ish) girls checking out and you got right in front of their cart and started talking to them and I guess flirting with them.  They told you that you were being funny and you said, "no, you are funny!"  And when they told you their names, you also said they were funny names.  And then you attached yourself to one of their legs and wouldn't let go and started tickling her.  I have never seen you do anything like that before.  I do think you were complete exhausted because you feel asleep in the car 1 minute after you finished eating some ice cream.  Poor kid!

January 20, 2013 - 4th Birthday!

January - February 8, 2013

Connor, you are such a joy in my life!  You give the biggest and best hugs and you give them to me all the time! You also randomly tell me that you love me.  You are also stubborn and have a little bit of a mean streak in you, but you keep me laughing!

You started your second semester at the preschool lab at BYU-I and you are not completely enjoying it and I am not sure why.  You keep telling me that "it takes too long".  So you created a deal for me.  You will go one day and then not the next day.  Unfortunately, I have not agreed with that deal, so you go and most of the time you like it!

You love playing "Mario" on the WII, but you hate losing and you hate when you are not good enough to do something.  You can get very angry if the game doesn't go your way, so after your first temper tantrum of the day, which usually ends up with your throwing the remote or hitting Triston when he takes a power that you wanted, you end up grounded from the game for the rest of the day.

You are a very competitive boy.  Sometimes the only way for me to get you do something is to make it an opportunity for you to win. Like making a race out of getting dressed or going to the bathroom.

I love you so much, Connor and I am so proud to be your mother!
